We need you
Miwatj Health are pleased to offer this position as a casual opportunity. Based in the Ramingining Clinic. you will be working closely with our Aboriginal workforce which is critical to our client’s success. You’ll be committed to finding the best way to communicate with our clients and our team in order to provide great care in sometimes uncertain circumstances.
Core aspects of your role will include:
Driver
- Collect/drop off pharmacy, laundry, pathology, client medications, stores and other supplies and equipment needed by the clinic.
- Clean and maintain the Miwatj Vehicle as per the Maintenance Policy.
- Contribute to a healthy and safe working environment.

A competitive salary of $$33.89 - $36.79 per hour (dependent on skills and experience) is available with this casual position.

Selection Criteria
Essential minimum requirements
- Ability to speak an Aboriginal language from the region and/or knowledge of traditional kinship systems operating in the region.
- Sound oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work at a satisfactory level with limited supervision as well as within a team environment.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the use of computerized systems, with experience in Communicare patient information and recall system preferred.
- Sound clerical, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in working in an environment that has direct contact with clients.
- Strong understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality.
- Commitment to practice with sensitivity in a cross-cultural environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Windows and Outlook email operations
Desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient referrals to specialists’ clinics, patient travel, medical clinic procedures and hospital systems.
- Possession of a current first aid certificate.
- Ability to speak an Aboriginal language from the Miwatj Region (East Arnhem Land) and/or knowledge of kinship systems.
